Shortly after graduation, I purchased a car in Coeur d’Alene, ID (original hometown) and drove to Vancouver, BC, for the World Expo, then slowly worked my way down Hwy 1, all the way to San Diego, then Tucson and Phoenix. Along the way, I met up with some fellow T-Birds. I eventually made my way through another CA loop, to Flagstaff, Boise, then to the U. of Montana in Missoula for school, initially as a Russian major (87–91). I got bored with school and joined the Army for 10 years, flying helicopters. I nearly simultaneously got married to Leigh Waldrep, from Birmingham, Alabama. We have now lived in Alabama, Kentucky, Tennessee, Germany, Cyprus, Georgia, then back to Coeur d’Alene, with two daughters raised along the way. I got out of the Army in 2001 and have since worked 11 years of aerial firefighting, from FL to AK, and many points in between, 4 years flying oil rigs in Cook Inlet, then 11+ years flying Air Ambulance work with Life Flight, all over the NW. We are still living in Coeur d’Alene, happily married for 34+ years, and have been to all 50 states together. No grandkids yet, but still hopeful!
